Another Candidate Signs "#NoHospitalDowntown" Pledge - Growing Group Also Offer "Rides to Polls"

Utica, NY, November 2, 2017 - Press Conference Today at 10:30AM, as another candidate signs pledge.A growing group is opposed to placing a new hospital in Downtown Utica, and will also offer to provide voters rides to the polls.

An expanded list of pledge signers will be named today, by "NoHospital Downtown" party line candidate, Lou Poccia.

Media is invited to hear the list; today, Thursday, November 2, 2017 - 10:30AM at 10-12 Liberty Street, in Bagg's Square, Downtown Utica. Join Mr Poccia - he has signed the #NoHospitalDowntown Pledge - and is a candidate for City of Utica, 1st Ward, Common Council.

MVHS has offered a hospital concept that would go into the first ward, but a group has pledge to fight that. They are working to place new healthcare investments at the St. Luke's Campus, a site that offers 64-acres, which is unanimously approved by the MVHS board for a new hospital. MVHS's property at St. Luke's is already owned by the Faxton-St Luke's hospital, whereas going downtown has already begun disrupting 40+ productive businesses. The downtown hospital concept would requirement use eminent domain.
