Utica Political Party Seeks Positive Rome Ruling

* * * For Immediate Release * * *

Utica, NY, September 26, 2017 - Tomorrow in City of Rome Supreme Court, Utica-based "NoHospital Dwtn" candidate Lou Poccia goes before the Honorable Patrick F. MacRae at 9:30AM.

Mr. Poccia took action after the Oneida County Board of Elections challenged his petitions to appear on the "NoHospital Dwtn" party line. In November Poccia is challenging City of Utica, 1st Ward Councilwoman, Maria Pezzolanella-McNiel, D-1. Already having secured the Republican, Conservative, and Reform parties endorsements, Mr. Poccia's “Article 78 Proceeding” may place him on this fourth party line.

Members of #NoHospitalDowntown and BetterUticaDowntown will be in attendance at Oneida County Supreme Court, 302 North James Street, Rome, NY 13440. Judicial review of the “NoHospital Dwtn” nominating petition process, and Oneida County Broad of Election’s ruling, will be heard.

Mr. Poccia, other Oneida County and City of Utica candidates, as well as Congressional Candidate Heath Phillips have signed the #NoHospitalDowntown Pledges, stating they will work and vote to place the new hospital on the unanimously approved St. Luke Campus, not in Downtown Utica.

Mohawk Valley and Central New York area media, and anyone interested in the "downtown hospital concept" debate, are encouraged to attend.
